MU ceramics studio gallery

Arts, Entertainment, Nightlife, Mosman, NSW, Australia

One of more than fifteen artists’ studios in the precinct, mu is a tranquil space for the creation and exhibition of handmade ceramic objects from collector’s pieces to unique tableware.

Within the historic Headland Park Artist Precinct in the Sydney Harbourside suburb of Mosman, stands a small cottage at the end of the path. For more than one hundred and fifty years the Gardener’s Cottage was part of the Middle Head military post. Today it is home to the studio and gallery of Sydney ceramicist Mulan Gock.
In 2013 Mulan established mu as both a working studio and a gallery to encourage and support other ceramicists and sculptors. One of more than fifteen artists’ studios in the precinct, mu is a tranquil space for the creation and exhibition of handmade ceramic objects from collector’s pieces to unique tableware. The gallery room will feature regular exhibitions by Sydney potters and sculptors as well as Mulan’s own distinctive work.
With a love of simplicity of form and colour, her work explores the subtle qualities of black, white, and natural ceramic materials and the translucence of Celadon glaze – elements that express her Shanghai heritage.
mu aims to produce and exhibit sculptural and practical pieces that are beautiful to look at, to hold and to use.
